The D-Joust DJ Competition

While the other kids were playing Action Man, Julian was playing drums in a band. By the age of 10, and in a 'Partridge-Family' style rock outfit, he fell in love with the beats and funky baselines.

This original beginning forms the basis of his musical taste and unique style. By the time he was 22 there wasn't a stone unturned in Sydney's dance scene.

Having done all there was to do, and taken everything on board, Julian's taste found a new flavour. The sounds of London drifted across the sunny sands of Bondi and a new horizon beckoned... Julian packed his boardies and made for the White Cliffs of Dover.

1 year later; submerged and content in the funkstitution that is London, a new depth appeared and he jumped in head first. This new depth was Breakbeats, and this became his desire! Night and day, week in, week out, more tunes, more music... he just couldn't get enough! The latest CD's from Virgin Megastores and HMV started to bore him so he went even deeper...

...A set of decks and a bunch of killer records soon followed...

His first gig was D-Joust 2006 (made the semi-finals) which consequently lead to supporting the likes of Janette Slack (mix-mag Future Hero), Gordon Edge (Bora Bora), Tall Paul, Hoxton Whores and Paulo Mojo. More recently you will find Reveal (AKA Julian Wilson) playing out with Tom Middleton, A Skills, Freeform Five and Tom Real (12th May - The Key). Freeform Five, incidentally, will be playing at The Whitehouse (P45), the same venue as Origami, Reveal's newest venture... as the resident, and promoter alongside Clive Morley (Platform 12), Alex Collins (former Ibiza resident; Es Paradise) and Clay Hey (The Tenacious Sound System).

For what's been an incredibly fun journey so far, we look forward for what is yet to come, because Reveal is ready to go.

Correct? Guilty.
